December is here — the month of lights, cozy nights, warm drinks, and community traditions that remind us how good it feels to slow down and appreciate the people around us. As the fall semester wraps up at Purdue, there’s no better time for VERVE residents to come together, make memories, and spread kindness throughout the West Lafayette community.

From simple acts of giving to festive gatherings and end-of-year celebrations, here’s how we’re embracing the magic of the season at VERVE.

Give Back, Spread Joy

The holidays feel even more meaningful when we use our time and energy to brighten someone else’s season. At VERVE West Lafayette, we make giving back both easy and enjoyable by encouraging residents to use our shared spaces as a home base for creativity, collaboration, and community impact.

Angel Tree Donations

Local churches, community organizations, and nonprofits in the Lafayette area host Angel Tree programs where you can “adopt” a child and fulfill a holiday wish.

Gather in our lounge or study areas to wrap gifts, organize donations, and even host a small gift-wrapping party with friends and neighbors.

Write Cards to Elderly Neighbors

Senior living communities nearby truly treasure receiving handwritten cards during the holiday season.

Settle into one of our clubhouse tables with friends, grab craft supplies, or use the community printer to create card templates. A cozy card-writing night in the warmth of VERVE’s shared spaces can make a meaningful impact for local seniors.

Donate Toys to Children’s Hospitals

Children’s hospitals in the region often accept new toys, art supplies, puzzles, and blankets.

If you’d like to donate, our lobby and package room make it easy to collect and organize items before dropping them off. You can even coordinate a mini donation drive with your floor or friend group.

Moments That Bring Us Together

December is the perfect time to slow down and celebrate the community we’ve built at VERVE all year long. Our amenities give you plenty of places to do just that:

• Gather your friends in the lounge for classic holiday movie nights
• Decorate cookies or create festive treats in our community kitchen
• Bring board games to the clubhouse for an impromptu game night
• Join (or host!) a vision-board workshop in one of our cozy meeting rooms

These spaces aren’t just amenities — they’re where your best memories happen.

Ending the Year Strong

As we wrap up 2025, we want to thank every VERVE resident for helping create a vibrant, positive, and welcoming atmosphere here in West Lafayette.
